PolarSystems

About PolarSystems

Building tools for people who run their own servers.

PolarSystems is a small project focused on making self-hosted Minecraft and Stormworks infrastructure less painful to manage. We build what we'd want to use ourselves.

What we build

Tools that cover the full lifecycle of running a self-hosted game server environment.

Server management

Configuration, automation, and real-time status for Minecraft and Stormworks servers on your own hardware.

Discord integration

Bots and bridges that connect your game servers to your community Discord without manual wiring.

Installer tooling

One-command setup for the full stack. Native binaries, sensible defaults, no environment assumptions.

Shared API layer

A consistent API across all Polar components so integrations and custom tooling are predictable to build.

Our principles

The ideas that shape every decision in the project.

Self-hosted first

Everything runs on your hardware. We don't require accounts, cloud APIs, or external services for core functionality.

Simple by default

Sane defaults, readable config, and clear error messages. You shouldn't need to read the source to understand what's happening.

Stable and predictable

We don't break things for fun. Releases are deliberate, changes are documented, and servers that work today keep working.

Roadmap focus

What the project is working on across three horizons.

Now

Stability and polish

Fixing rough edges, improving documentation, and making the existing tools reliable enough to depend on daily.

Next

Broader platform support

Extending compatibility to more operating systems and server configurations, starting with ARM and containerized environments.

Later

Extensibility

Plugin and scripting support so operators can build on the stack without forking it.
